Well done to Ríodhna McGrath & Kira Lynch on representing Ireland at the Under 16 FIBA European Basketball Championships in Montenegro in August. Ireland played 7 games in total across 10 days and won 3 out of 7 games. They beat Bulgaria and Cyprus in their pool games and finished third in their group behind Montenegro & Sweden, who ultimately finished the tournament in 2nd and 3rd place. They then progressed to the classification games beating Luxembourg but losing out narrowly to both Austria and Denmark. Ireland finished in a very commendable 14th place overall.

It was a fantastic experience for the girls to play in a really competitive tournament at such a high standard and to represent their country.

Congratulations to Kira who was top scorer for Ireland in the Championship.
